Radiata Pine, better known as 'New Zealand Pine' is a softwood tree that contains many properties that make it very suitable for furniture and furniture making. It has a density equal to that of hardwoods like poplar, mahogany and oak. Its uniform density ensures a smooth and consistent texture and confers its excellent machining, painting and staining properties; there is almost no variation in color between pieces. DaVinci's pine wood originates from forests maintained by managers that enforce environmental responsibility and the conservation of forest wildlife.

I am pleased with the quality, it looks nice and classy. It is sturdy and was easy to put together. I didn't want anything cheap looking and this bookshelf is everything I imagined it would be. The bottom drawer is not as solidly built as I would prefer, but I think it will be fine as long as my son doesn't try to sit in it. At this point I fully recommend this.

This bookshelf is absolutely perfect. The shelves are wide and deep enough to hold baskets or canvas boxes in which I store the baby's towels and toys. The drawer at the bottom lends an elegance to the piece, and provides additional storage.

The shipping was not the best, the wood is really soft, so one piece was damaged, lucky for us it was the top piece and not seen from the front.
